Nearly a hundred students stayed at UIC during the Chinese New Year holidays. To enrich their lives, UIC arranged celebrations on campus.

On the eve of the Chinese New Year of the Tiger, staff and students gathered to have a celebration dinner. Attending the dinner included UIC President Tang Tao, Dean of DBM Prof Liu Wenbin, Associate Director of Student Affairs Office and instructor of WPE Shedao class, Mr Li Junyang, Associate Professor of DHSS and Warden of Literary Education Hall, Dr Maggie Tang, Assistant Professor of DBM and Warden of the Liberal Education Hall, Dr Angela Ma, and Assistant Director of Estates Management Office, Ms Huang Yanmei.
These students come from different provinces, and for some, it was the first time they had spent the new year away from home. Prof Tang Tao hoped that everyone could have a great time and spend a fruitful winter break no matter where they are.

During the night, teachers and students also played games, watched the Spring Festival Gala on the television and enjoyed singing performances brought by students.

On the afternoon before New Year's Eve, Programme Director of CTV Dr Dominic Man, and Dr Angela Ma joined the students for making dumplings.

On the first day of the new year, Mr Li Junyang arranged a unique Shedao activity for students.

The students seized the chance to participate in meaningful activities during the break, such as volunteering to help against COVID-19.
At the same time, UIC held several events like rope skipping, greenway jogging, yoga, writing Spring Festival couplets, handmaking, etc.

First-year student Wang Haoran joined the voluntary medical team against the pandemic in Zhuhai. Wang took it as a meaningful action to spend his winter. Although he wasn't able to go back home, which is in Tianjin City, UIC's activities made him feel at home.
Third-year student Peng Yangyue decided to prepare for Junior Accountant Examination and Postgraduate Examination. Being a member of the UIC Yayue Orchestra, she also devoted herself to practising dancing and drumming. Wang was happy about the time she went shopping with friends and witnessed geese in UIC growing up day by day during the winter holidays.

Another fourth-year student, Yuan Haozhang, said that this is his first time celebrating the new year out of his hometown, Xi'an. Prof Tang Tao paid a visit to Yuan's dormitory for sending the new year's blessing, and Yuan felt grateful for that.
Second-year student Ma Xingyu planned to practice drum and sports during winter break. The students' food sharing also created a new year's atmosphere, making UIC like her home.
