International academic website Research.com released the Best Scientists in the World Ranking, with nine UIC scholars selected.
Research.com has been publishing the rankings of leading scientists worldwide since 2022. Its rankings comprise one comprehensive list and over 20 lists covering every discipline. Position in the ranking lists is based on a researcher's discipline H-index and a detailed evaluation of nearly 170,000 profiles on Google Scholar and Microsoft Academic Graph.
UIC scholars have been named in more than ten fields, including mathematics, electronics and electrical engineering, computer science, social science and humanities, biology and biochemistry and more.
They are UIC President, Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Fellow of the European Academy of Sciences Prof Tang Tao; Vice President (Research and Development) and Dean of Graduate School Prof Jia Weijia; Chair Professor and Dean of Faculty of Business and Management Prof Liu Wenbin; Chair Professor Wang Qing-Guo of the Department of Computer Science; Chair Professor Fang Kai-tai of the Department of Statistics and Data Science; Prof Wang Tian and Prof Yu Hongnian of the Department of Computer Science; Associate Department Head of Management Prof Adolf K.Y. Ng; and Chair Professor, Department Head of Life Sciences Prof Xu Baojun.
Among them, Prof Tang Tao and Prof Wang Qing-Guo were selected in the top 1000 scientists internationally in their respective disciplines. In addition, Prof Tang Tao, Prof Wang Qing-Guo, Prof Fang Kai-tai and Prof Adolf K.Y. Ng were selected in the top 100 scientists nationally in their respective disciplines.
