Nine UIC scholars make world's top 2% scientists list

Stanford University and Elsevier have made the World's Top 2% Scientists for 2023, a publicly accessible database showcasing highly cited researchers.

The selected nine UIC scholars are: UIC President, Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Fellow of the European Academy of Sciences Prof Tang Tao; UIC Provost Prof Patrick Chau; UIC Vice President (Research and Development), Dean of Graduate School Prof Jia Weijia; Acting Dean of Faculty of Business and Management, Prof Adolf K.Y. Ng; Prof Wang Qing-Guo of Department of Computer Science; Prof Shan Xiaowen of the Institute of Advanced Study; Prof Xu Baojun of Department of Life Sciences; Prof Wang Tian and Dr Luo Zongwei of Department of Computer Science.

The nine scholars have entered both sub-lists of career-long impact and single-year impact this year, covering areas including Numerical and Computational Mathematics, Information Systems, Networking and Telecommunications, Logistics and Transportation, Industrial Engineering and Automation, Fluids and Plasmas, Food Science, Artificial Intelligence and Image Processing. Prof Chau was in the top 50 worldwide in his research area, Information Systems, in both lists.
