At the 2nd National Student Data Analysis Competition 2023, a team of UIC's postgraduate students from the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) Liang Haohui, Huang Runlin and Li Mingxu ranked the top of all the participating teams with its work scored full marks in all the scoring items. Ms Song Xiebing from the Department of Statistics and Data Science was awarded as the Outstanding Instructor.

The 2nd National Student Data Analysis Competition 2023 is a national data analysis-themed competition organised by the Chinese Association for Applied Statistics with assistance from the Guangdong Association for Applied Statistics and the Guangzhou University. The competition this year attracted 247 universities and colleges from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and elsewhere.
The team said that participating in the competition had not only improved their professional skills, but also grown them in teamwork, time management and pressure resistance. They also expressed their gratitude towards the Faculty and teachers for providing them with resources and strong support.
