When preparing for the examination, Yang focused mainly on problem-solving ideas and familiarising herself to question types. "Later, I mainly memorised words every day and did exercises every week," she said. All these contributed to Yang Jiajing's English (2) score--82, far beyond the national enrolment cut-off point.

The whole process, from topic selection and interviews to word editing and layout design in the editorial work of "Zhenzhu Newspaper" in the professional course project, extended Yang's insights. She still remembers the time in the Greater Bay Area, going to Hong Kong for interviews on weekends, writing on the boat at night, and repeatedly polishing the script. These practical experiences inspired her in screenwriting.
How did Yang score 428?
Yang went all out to prepare for the examination since August 2023.
She went to the library 6 days a week, sometimes reached a maximum of 11 days of study per day. Yang once said, "Since I have decided to take the enrolling exam, I must save no effort to prepare."
