Published on 7 May 2025

BNBU Open Day welcomed over 60,000 visitors on campus and online on 2 May 2025, offering the public an immersive experience of its liberal arts education model.

BNBU President Prof Chen Zhi and representatives of all Faculties and Schools welcomed the visitors and introduced the university, including its educational philosophy, talent cultivation methods, latest admissions policies, and opportunities for postgraduate study and career development. They also attended the Q&A sessions to hear more from the audience.

Prof Chen shared several key initiatives in BNBU's development plan: launching diverse academic tracks such as allowing bachelor's degree holders to pursue master's or doctoral degrees directly in the university; promoting international academic exchange and cooperation through the newly established Boston Center; founding the School of AI and Liberal Arts to nurture innovative, interdisciplinary talents in AI and beyond; and recruiting global experts in artificial intelligence and its applications.

Throughout the day, visitors also participated in around 40 open classes delivered by teachers from BNBU's five Faculties and Schools, and toured around campus to get a hands-on experience of the university's facilities, including the training centres for Chinese archery and Guqin, Sports Complex, labs and dormitories. The dragon and lion dance performances, along with the capping ceremony (coming-of-age ceremony in Chinese culture), were organised, giving them a taste of the culturally rich and dynamic student life at BNBU.

In 2025, BNBU will recruit students from 28 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions across China. In addition to its new integrated bachelor-master and bachelor-PhD programmes, BNBU is also launching joint degree programmes with Hong Kong Baptist University and establishing the School of AI and Liberal Arts, which will admit and nurture students beginning in Fall 2025.

This year, BNBU continues to implement its Comprehensive Evaluation Admission (CEA) Examination in Guangdong. Registration for the comprehensive assessment is now open and will remain available until May 25.

In addition to BNBU, representatives from renowned universities, including Beijing Normal University, Hong Kong Baptist University, Tongji University, Xi'an Jiaotong University, Dalian University of Technology, Northeastern University, Central South University, Lanzhou University, East China Normal University, Chongqing University, and Wuhan University also participated in the event to provide prospective students and their families with one-on-one admissions consultation.
