At the High Table Dinner held by the Division of Business and Management on 1 December, Prof Yu Dan was invited to give a speech as a high table guest.
Prof Yu Dan is a renowned scholar and professor of media studies at Beijing Normal University.

In her speech, Prof Yu said that students should form their values and find their cognitive drive during college days. When one sees passion, one is unstoppable.

Prof Yu hopes UIC students can embrace their Chinese roots when becoming world citizens. She suggested that students learn more about their own culture and look at it critically.
In the Q&A session, Prof Yu encourages students to keep reading no matter what books they like. By doing so, they will gradually develop their interests in reading.
