Advisory meeting supports FST development

The 9th meeting of the Advisory Committee of UIC's Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) was held online and onsite on 23 November 2022. External members from corporates and institutes joined UIC members at the meeting, which was chaired by Prof Roderick SC Wong, former Vice-President of the City University of Hong Kong.

UIC President, Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Fellow of the European Academy of Sciences Prof Tang Tao, briefed the committee members on the College's recent developments, including the construction of the second-phase campus, initiatives for faculty cultivation and recruitment plans of high-level talents.

UIC Acting Vice President (Academic) and Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology Prof Pan Jianxin, reported to the members on the development of the Faculty in the past two years, highlighting its achievements in discipline construction, talents recruitment, scientific research development, student affairs and overseas cooperation.

Other UIC professors and teachers also introduced the committee to the developments, achievements and plans of FST's departments, laboratories and research centres.

The consultants all gave advice and recommendations actively supporting the future development of UIC and FST, and the representative expressed his gratitude to the members for their long-standing support and guidance to the College and the Faculty.
