UIC organised a high table dinner for new students' parents on 27 August 2023, where over 200 parents exchanged opinions on university education with UIC's senior management and faculty.
UIC President, Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Fellow of the European Academy of Sciences Prof Tang Tao welcomed the guests and introduced them to UIC's education philosophy. He pointed out that UIC upholds liberal arts education and aims to cultivate students with professional knowledge and develop sound minds and bodies. "While studying at UIC, they should not only learn how to be a learner, but also how to be a whole person."
Prof Tang explained further UIC's other educational features and its development to the parents and shared his understanding of college life.
The new students' parents later also exchanged ideas on related topics with Prof Tang.
UIC senior management and faculty attended the dinner.
