Long Dingning is a student of the class of 2023 of UIC's Department of Life Sciences. Now, she is studying for her Master's degree in Applied Psychology at the Beijing Normal University (BNU).
Long discovered her research interest in her third year at UIC, and decided to set a goal at BNU for her postgraduate study. She believed that targeted reviewing and planning ahead of time during the exam preparation could improve her study efficiency. She also suggested that focusing on making progress instead of the final results could endow one with a stable mindset. "It's vital to keep a study-life balance. One should rest in time, keep exercising regularly, and stick to their plans patiently," she said.

She had encountered the stress of writing her graduate thesis and reviewing for the exam, but she said the four-year training at UIC had shaped her to be resilient. By participating in multiple academic events and social activities, she obtained new ways of thinking and the courage to face challenges, which she was grateful for.
Chen Yiran is a student of the class of 2022 of UIC's Department of Film, Television and New Media. She is now studying for her Master's degree in Art of Radio and Television at the Communication University of China (CUC).

Chen had her own methods of preparing for the exam compared to Long. During the daily intense study for at least 10 hours with extreme concentration, she used an app to manage her time. Chen also spent much effort in information collection. She contacted a UIC graduate who managed to be admitted by CUC for her Master's study, receiving much guidance to adjust her study plan better. "I was lucky to have a senior schoolmate to provide useful advice to me," she said.
During the journey, she found out that she had significantly improved her skills in independent learning, academic writing and literature reading. Meanwhile, UIC had honed her ability to handle multiple tasks, and the English-teaching environment significantly enhanced her English listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.
