UIC and the Federal Institute of São Paulo (IFSP) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote studies in aviation English. This strategic alliance connects UIC's Department of Languages and Cultures with the civil aviation studies at IFSP, aiming to nurture language experts in the aviation industry.

The two parties would create pedagogical and lexicographical materials explicitly designed for aviation English, promoting cooperation and cross-cultural exchanges between Brazil and China in this highly specialised field.
The cooperation was led by Dr Daniela Terenzi at IFSP and Dr Malila Prado at UIC. Students of UIC's English Language and Literature Programme cultivated in the EPC and TESOL concentrations would provide Dr Terenzi's students with linguistic insights, and the latter would bring to the project the professional technological expertise necessary to ensure the teaching materials were relevant and credible.
IFSP, located in Sao Carlos, the home of Brazil's largest airline, is an institution with over 40 campuses spread all over São Paulo. It hosts various scientific and technological programmes, including aviation engineering and aircraft maintenance courses.
