UIC organised a forum on education development on 1 December 2023, gathering representatives from over 140 high schools and universities to discuss the development of talent cultivation under the new requirement of college entrance examination, as well as the new trend of enrolment and employment in China.
UIC President Prof Tang Tao delivered a keynote speech on UIC's liberal arts education and shared UIC's innovative exploration. He pointed out that as the first full-scale cooperation in higher education between the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong, UIC has been practising liberal arts education for 18 years and has explored a new model of whole-person education. It has cultivated all-rounded talents with international eyesight, dipping into traditional Chinese culture.

Prof Tang shared some significant data. Over 70% of UIC graduates have recently continued their further study abroad. Most have been admitted to the world's top 100 QS-ranked colleges and universities, while employed students are highly favoured by the world's top 500 enterprises and government agencies. Some graduates who started their businesses have been listed in the Forbes 30 under 30 list.
He also mentioned that cooperation between high schools and universities was essential to promote education development, which could realise the continuity of talent cultivation. He looked forward to more communication with the related parties.
