
Prof Lee Tain-Dow, a veteran media professional, gave UIC students a lecture on sign and cultural commodity on 16 October.
Prof Lee is member of UIC’s Division of Humanities and Social Sciences Advisory Board Committee, professor of Taiwan’s Shih Chien University and Founder of the Research Institute for Media Technology and Creative Industries.
His lecture focused on how to use Roland Barthes' semiology, a general science of signs, in business practices, with reference to cases from many corporations.
