UIC held its first lecture of Distinguished Lectures on Liberal Arts Education at the University Hall on the afternoon of 28 October. Secretary of the CPC Zhuhai Municipal Committee, Guo Yonghang, attended the event and delivered the first lecture. He gave his vivid and profound insight to more than 1,000 staff members and students around the theme of 'The Future of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Position of Zhuhai'.

Guo Yonghang first introduced the remarkable development of China over the past decades, and addressed that the construction of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has a significant strategic role in the national development. As one of the important cities of the Greater Bay Area, Zhuhai will have a more prominent position that is showing great vitality during its development.

The construction of the Greater Bay Area creates a historic opportunity to accelerate the development of the Zhuhai Special Economic Zone in the new era. Therefore, young students will hopefully seize the new opportunities in the Greater Bay Area, take advantage of the development with a broader vision, participate in the construction of the special economic zone and grow up together with this young city of Zhuhai.

Mr Guo said that Zhuhai will make every effort to create a talent-friendly, youth-friendly and eco-friendly environment, and provide the best service guarantee for the majority of young students with the utmost sincerity and efforts.

Zhuhai's city leader Wu Shi and the President of UIC Prof Tang Tao also attended the event.
