Associate Professor from the General Education Office (GEO), Dr Nazrul Islam, was invited by Xiamen University Malaysia to give a public talk on ‘Asian Medicine under the Global Trend’.

The talk took place at the Xiamen University Malaysia campus in Sepang, Selangor Darul Ehsan, Malaysia on 12 July. Chaired by Dr Kim Yun Jin from the School of Traditional Chinese Medicine the lecture was attended by the faculties, staffs and students from the Xiamen University Malaysia. Xiamen University Malaysia is playing a key role in promoting Chinese medicine in Southeast Asia.

During his stay Dr Islam also visited the Institute of China Studies (ICS) at the University of Malaya, which is located in Kuala Lumpur. Dr Islam met the Institute's Acting Director, Dr Ngeow Chow Bing, and invited the institute to participate in 3rd UIC Interdisciplinary Forum on ‘Belt and Road Initiative and Inter-Asia Human Connectivity’ which is due to be held from 1 until 4 April, 2020. Dr Islam also visited University Sains Malaysia in Penang Island and met the academics and students there.
