UIC staff pay a visit to SUSTech

Representatives from multiple UIC departments visited Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) on 29 December 2020. The two parties exchanged views on student affairs, finance, logistics and infrastructure development.

Deputy Secretary of the UIC Party Committee, Ms Wang Hong, led the visit. Participants from UIC included Managing Director for Finance and Administration, Mr Nelson Chan; Director of Finance Office, Mr Percy Li; and Associate Director of Institutional Development Office as well as Estates and Campus Development Office, Ms Susan Liu. Vice Chairperson of University Council of SUSTech, Mr Li Fengliang, and others warmly welcomed UIC personnel's arrival. SUSTech Vice Provost Zheng Chunmiao, Member of University Council Chen Zhifeng and heads of related departments participated in the discussions.

Mr Li introduced SUSTech's innovations in governance mechanism, personnel management, scientific research system, in addition to their experience in establishing a new education system. He looked forward to furthering in-depth exchanges between the two universities and joint efforts to contribute to higher education.

Ms Wang Hong spoke of UIC's management experience, faculty building, talent cultivation, and party organisation construction. She hoped that the two universities could strengthen exchanges and in-depth cooperation to promote the two to a new level.

Afterwards, representatives from the departments of UIC and SUSTech had group discussions, respectively. UIC staff went on a campus tour and learned more about SUSTech.
