UIC's campus boasted a strong festive atmosphere on 26 February as the college celebrated Lantern Festival.
Students of the UIC Dragon Lion Dance Team gave a performance that symbolises joy and auspiciousness. Also, there were various games and treats.

In addition to sending Chinese New Year blessings, the lion dance event also aims to encourage students to actively raise money that will be donated to a special education school in the Doumen District of Zhuhai.
Party Secretary of the College Party Committee and Vice President (Administration), Prof Mao Yaqing, attended the event. Hall Wardens, residence tutors and residence student tutors welcomed the Dragon Lion Dance team's arrival as they performed their way around the campus.

Gongs and drums beat, laughter, and lion dance was what could be heard throughout the campus. The Dragon and Lion Dance team's performance attracted many enthusiastic onlookers from teachers and students applauded and praised for its excellent performance.

Wen Can, a fourth-year Public Relations and Advertising student, participated in the lion dance. He joined the Dragon Lion Dance Team in his first year at UIC and studied it as part of his Whole Person Education. The team also won the championship in the National University Dragon and Lion Dance Championship. Wen Can said that learning the lion dance is very hard, but lion dance has brought him a great sense of accomplishment and happiness for more than three years.

Also, during the Lantern Festival at UIC, the students enjoyed a variety of stunning performances presented by various student clubs.
