On 3 November, 14 students attended UIC's lunchtime meeting with Vice President (Administration) Prof Mao Yaqing and Chief Student Affairs Officer Prof Johnston Wong. They communicated on topics such as postgraduate applications, hall life, and public facilities.

In the lunchtime meeting, Prof Mao encouraged students to put forward ideas and suggestions on campus life and construction. Qiu Xindi, a third-year student preparing for domestic postgraduate entrance examinations, suggested UIC arrange semester-break accommodations for students like them. Prof Mao said that UIC would consider the needs of students with more space to be provided in the second-phase campus. Prof Johnston Wong also added that the Career Development Office (CDO) has been conducting lectures for students to prepare for the postgraduate entrance examination.
