Yin Jiaying

Peer tutor, Academic Tutorial Group
Jin Jiaying, admitted by the Accounting (ACCT) Programme, found her interest in statistics when taking a statistics-related course. Therefore, she transferred to the Statistics (STAT) Programme and started her peer tutor journey at PGCC. According to her, being a peer tutor is mutually beneficial.

Zhong Jiayue

Dance tutor, Body-Mind-Self (BMS)
Zhong Jiayue started dancing when she was three. When she was remotely learning due to COVID-19, she signed up for a programme launched by BMS (a student interest club). The programme helped relieve her stress and anxiety. Later, she signed up as a dance tutor to help other students. Zhong said she also improved her interpersonal and organisational skills.

Lin Ziying adapted to university life soon with the help of seniors. Inspired to join the list of peer tutors, she later decided to establish an association to focus on the administration of peer tutoring classes. In this process, she also felt the importance to cultivate servant leadership and the meaning of serving people and society.

Li Xinyi volunteered at an information session in Beijing for prospective students. Then, she started her first internship at the AO office. She also participated in event planning and promotion for the Beijing Alumni Association of UIC.

Zhang Yuchuan
Second-year Culture, Creativity and Management (CCM) student
Stage manager, CCM Concert
On 17 November 2021, the CCM Concert was independently organised by the CCM Association. Zhang Yuchuan was appointed as stage manager, responsible for programme orders and coordinating rehearsals. Cheers from the audience and their attention to the stage gave him a sense of satisfaction.

Xiao Yijia seeks different possibilities for her life at UICer New Media Studio. It has become her daily routine to seek potential popular points from life while brainstorming gathered other minds for idea exchanges. Yijia and her teammates always keep learning by doing, as conveying ideas virtually and textually effectively means a lot of difficulties. However, all efforts were deserved when they achieved it.

As a resident tutor, Ma Renrui organised several student activities, such as Flower Arrangement, DIY Sugar Cookies, Hall Day Forum, etc. As a result, she learned to put herself in the shoes of others, which would benefit her further academic and career development.

Fu Weizhong wants to promote skating culture. Fashion Night was one of the most challenging events that meant the most for him, during which he engaged as the chief planner. All the co-organisers gave the full play in different positions and applied what they gained from Liberal Arts Education.

Chen Yong'er
Third-year Media Arts and Design (MAD) student
President, UIC Football Association (FA)
Chen Yong'er is a football lover at the Football Association (FA) and hoped to step out of the comfort zone. Being appointed as associate leader of the publicity team, Yong'er was responsible for department planning, event reporting, and competition photography. Yong'er was also recommended as president of FA and improved communication and stress management skills.
