Some students and alumni started a romantic relationship at UIC. Here are their love stories.
1.
Qiu Haoran and Liu Ruoxi, both 2021 MAD graduates, acted as a couple at a performance in their first year at UIC. However, after getting to know each other, the "couple" turned real out of the scene.

UIC witnessed the four-year relationship between Qiu and Liu. Taking a walk while talking about their dreams or concerns was their favourite thing to do. Through strolling with laughter or arguing sometimes, they gradually became in love.
When they were at UIC, Qiu was assigned vice president of the Representative Council of the Student Union, and Liu worked as an associate president of the broadcast station. They even started a business together, finding their work and life balance.
At the moment, Qiu is pursuing his master's degree at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. And Liu is studying at the University College London (UCL) for her master's degree.
2.
Zhang Zixin, a 2020 PRA graduate, met Liu Tingyin, a 2015 PRA graduate, thanks to the reference of their Programme Director. In Zhang Zixin's sophomore year, she consulted the Programme Director of PRA about the master's degrees in Singapore. The Programme Director at that time recommended Liu to her for a better reference because Liu had just finished his master's degree at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and was working at VIVO (in the Philippines) at that moment.

From then on, Liu was like a mentor, answering Zhang's many questions about professional knowledge, further education, and career development. In 2019, Liu started to work in Huawei (Shenzhen's headquarters). Liu and Zhang finally met in person at a UIC alumni event.
The romantic relationship between them started with distance. But Liu and Zhang made their way through all the difficulties with trust and understanding.
In 2020, Zhang went to the University College London (UCL) for her master's degree. Eight-hour time lag and pandemic was what challenged this relationship. But they tried their best to keep this relationship going.

After graduation, Zhang decided to stay in London for more experience. Liu was supportive of her decision and applied for the opportunity to be assigned to the UK. They finally reunited in London and ended the long distant relationship.
3.
Xu Yingzhi, 2020 FIN graduate, and Zhang Zhiyi, 2020 CST graduate, fell in love and farewelled almost at the same time.

Xu and Zhang were officially announced as a couple just three days before they separated. Before graduating from UIC, they came to the House of Guqin to bid farewell to their college life. Their photo in this room was their photo on WeChat Moment for the announcement.

They were both admitted to the University of New South Wales, Australia. Continuing further education together is exciting, but the pandemic postponed their reunion.
This relationship carried on to be a distant one since Zhang and Xu were apart in Shenzhen, Guangdong and Songyuan, Jilin.

Zhang and Xu both learned more about commitment in an intimate relationship. As a result, Zhang and Xu managed to go to Australia together for their master's degree, and now they have more time to plan their future.
