A new session of the series, guides on UIC's Faculties and Schools, has been launched, and the cast today will be the School of Culture and Creativity (SCC).

Dr Yuan Yuan
Acting Head of Department of Culture, Creativity and Design
Dr Yuan said that the three programmes of the Department of Culture, Creativity and Design (Culture, Creativity and Management; Media Arts and Design; and Tourism Hospitality and Event Management) integrate perspectives of management and creative expression, generating unlimited possibilities. By enhancing the communication among subjects of the Department, it can bring students professional advantages and more development options.

Final Year Project (FYP) Exhibition of Culture, Creativity and Management Programme
She added that more activities presented by students from different majors in collaboration could be expected, and experts and scholars would be invited to communicate with the students to help them understand the industry better.
FYP Exhibition of Media Arts and Design Programme
She looked forward to strengthening cooperation with local cultural and creative enterprises, exhibition companies and other universities so that students can get more opportunities for industry internship and academic exchange.

Dr Wei Gailan
Acting Head of Department of Film, Television and New Media
Dr Wei said that the programmes of the Department of Film, Television and New Media (Animation and Interactive Media; and Cinema and Television) cover areas such as film, digital animation, and games, providing a broader view of expertise for its students while maintaining their characteristics respectively.
She emphasised that the Department is not only about producing a variety of artworks, but also about creativity and discovering possibilities, and it encourages students to apply what they have learned to a broader range of fields and to release more potential.

Dr Wei said that the teachers of the Department are rigorous in their academic requirements and value interactions with students, and their students appreciate their efforts very much.

Prof Thomas Alexander Stein
Head of Department of Music
UIC's Department of Music was founded in 2020, and its core programme includes classical music, film music, music and multimedia, music technology, jazz, traditional Chinese music and more.
In addition to the diversity of teaching, it also provides students with abundant opportunities for practice and exchange by organising concerts and lectures and establishing partnerships with Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra.

Prof Stein said that the Department focuses on students' creative thinking and modern skills necessary for being an artist or an educator to expand students' career paths. He was confident about the future development of the Department and would continue to bring in high-quality faculty and courses.
Students development
In the past three years, about 62% of SCC's graduates have chosen to pursue further studies, and many of them have entered prestigious universities and colleges, including the University of Cambridge, University College London, the University of Edinburgh and more. Most of them have been employed by established companies and well-known institutes, including Tencent and ByteDance.
