Cheng Zheru, mother of Wen Qiaowen, a recent graduate of UIC's Accounting Programme, talks about her daughter's four-year growth in the atmosphere of liberal arts education.
Cheng said Qiaowen had found herself constantly busy since starting university. During school terms, the rigorous academic requirements at UIC kept her occupied, and during holidays, she would take internships or prepare for language exams for her further study.

At UIC, students' performance is evaluated comprehensively throughout the semester, including regular grades, group projects, presentations, and mid-term tests, which encourages students to be diligent about studying.

In Cheng's mind, the curriculum at UIC adheres to international standards with strict quality assurance systems that focus on cultivating both academic and practical abilities in students. This flexible course selection system allows students like Qiaowen to choose different courses based on their interests and career plans.
UIC encourages students to participate in various competitions and activities where they can challenge themselves and discover their potential. Cheng remembered that Qiaowen took the opportunity to participate in an industry research competition with teammates from other disciplines, winning the championship title. She had also been in the Academic Tutorial Group for three and a half years, taking leading roles and earning recognition as a five-star tutor.

Cheng noticed a change in her daughter by her third year in college, who had become more independent, proactive and confident as she learned how to express her opinions and stand up for herself. Without any agency help, Qiaowen now holds offers from internationally prestigious institutions and plans to pursue accounting studies at the University of Hong Kong.
