In a recent publication on graduate destinations, UIC reported that over 75% of the 2019 graduates have continued to pursue postgraduate studies, according to a survey conducted before December 2019.
The majority have gone abroad as well as in Hong Kong, taking up 72.8% of the total number.
Amongst all these who have chosen postgraduate programmes, 67.9% have been accepted by world top 100 universities in the QS Rankings 2019, a new record high. These universities include the University College London, UK; Nanyang Technological University, Singapore; the University of Pennsylvania, US; Australian National University; as well as the University of Hong Kong.

The graduates’ favourite countries and regions for further study are the UK (38.7%), Australia (25.7%), Hong Kong (22.2%), and the US (8.9%).
A total of 1310 UIC graduates were awarded Bachelor’s Degrees in 2019. Almost 13.5% of the graduates have secured jobs in companies and government agencies. While other career paths contain starting their own businesses, voluntary services, as well as freelancing.
The top five cities for employment in Mainland China for UIC graduates are Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Beijing, Zhuhai and Shanghai.
The most popular industries that UIC graduates are involved in include business services (28.3%), the financial industry (9.6%), computer science and technology (9%), education (6.8%) as well as retail industry (3.4%).
