UIC has ushered in its new President, Professor Tang Tao, in February 2019. As the new semester begins, Professor Tang delivers a message of warmest wishes to all the staff and students. |
Dear colleagues and students,
This message comes to you with my warmest wishes. Today begins our new semester, and with it my first message as UIC's Second President. I am excited to lead this College and ready for the challenges that await me. I know I have big shoes to fill, but I pledge to do my utmost to build on the fine foundations laid by my predecessor and our founder Prof Ng Ching-Fai.

UIC is a unique institution of higher education. Since opening its doors to students in 2005, UIC has grown into an international institution with innovative educational approaches. I am grateful that Prof Ng has led UIC successfully in the past 14 years. In particular, he has given us a beautiful brand-new campus equipped with wonderful hardware and software for teaching and learning. With your continuing support, I am confident that UIC will scale even greater heights.
With our international orientation, dedicated teachers and state-of-the-art facilities, this should be the place to come for a great education. Let us work together to establish a reputation for outstanding teaching and grow our research excellence in some selected areas. Let us also work together to prepare our students useful skills that can turn them into successful members of the modern society.
May the Year of the Pig bring you all blessings and much happiness.
Professor TANG Tao
