UIC President on education of Greater Bay Area

UIC President Prof Ng Ching-Fai delivered a speech on the integration and innovation of education in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area at the 8th International Symposium on Cross-border Education, during the 2018 China Annual Conference for International Education and Expo held from 18 to 21 October.

The Annual Conference was sponsored by China Education Association for International Exchange.

In his speech, Prof Ng Ching-Fai mentioned that the development of universities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area showed a trend of integration.

He added that as the first cooperation between higher education institutions in mainland China and Hong Kong, UIC has accumulated experience in creating a platform for cooperation between universities in the Area.

UIC has built joint research institutes and summer programmes with Hong Kong Baptist University, as well as organising exchange activities for young people from mainland China and Hong Kong.

Prof Ng also pointed out that universities should foster innovative talents with a global vision and broad-mindedness of different cultures to serve modern society.
