Registration date for freshmen postponed to 13 September in wake of typhoon

Published on 29 August 2017

The powerful Typhoon Hato left a battered Zhuhai on 23 August. UIC, which is preparing to move to the new campus, was no exception and was damaged during the typhoon. What is worse, due to the failing water and power supply for a long time, construction of the second phase of the new campus and surrounding municipal services have been affected.

After a comprehensive assessment of the situation, UIC has decided to postpone the registration date of the admitted new students to 13 September, and the orientation schedule will be adjusted accordingly.

However, the start date of the new semester will remain unchanged. The freshmen will officially begin their university life on 19 September along with students from the other years.

During this special period, UIC needs time to ensure the quality of the new campus and build an improved learning and living space for students. The college would appreciate that students and parents would understand this decision and support UIC as always.

If there are any questions, the new students are encouraged to contact the Student Affairs Office by calling 0756-3620211 / 15992687840 (8:30-12:00, 13:00-17:30) or emailing to slcdt@uic.edu.cn.
