The construction of the buildings that make up the Culture Creativity Centre on UIC’s new campus were celebrated during a Topping-out Ceremony on 22 June.

The buildings of the Culture Creativity Centre are the first construction project of the new campus. The UIC senior management, the project team and the construction team attended the ceremony on the roof of one of the newly-capped buildings.

At his address, UIC President Prof Ng Ching-Fai expressed his thanks to the UIC Education Foundation and all the other parties who were making a concerted effort to build the new campus.

The Culture Creativity Centre, previously also known as the Music, Arts and Design Centre, nestles in front of a lake and is backed by rolling hills. It takes up 19,562 square metres and consists of five floors. Most of the buildings will serve the new Division of Culture and Creativity. Facilities will include exhibition halls, lecture rooms, cinema and television studios and art studios.
