A total of 453 students, 68 more than the previous academic year, were awarded scholarships at the presentation ceremony for the Academic Year 2014-2015 on 2 December.
Fifteen different types of scholarships were presented, amounting to approximately 4.2 million yuan.

“We are glad to see more and more students being awarded scholarships and it is something to remember at the tenth anniversary of UIC,” UIC President Prof Ng Ching-Fai said, adding that he hoped the students would have high moral standards and become mature and well-rounded people.
Year Four student from the Culture, Creativity and Management Programme Liao Jia received the First Award. She represented all of the students awarded scholarships and said, “I sincerely hope all of us can pursue what we aspire and become whom we are meant to be in the future.”

At the freshmen level, 71 won Admission Scholarships and two were awarded the Hong Kong School Principal Nomination Bursaries.

An American student obtained the Guangdong Government Outstanding Foreign Student Scholarship. Four students renewed their Full Entrance Scholarship thanks to their continuing excellent performance.

The First Class Award went to 81 students and the Second Class Award to 246. The National Scholarship, which is offered by the Chinese government, was given to two First-Class-Award listing students.

In addition to five students winning the China Unicom Scholarship, four received the Mr and Mrs Cutrupia Scholarship and one the Renewal of Mr and Mrs Cutrupia Mainland Students Scholarship.

The Prof Hebert Tsang Scholarship was presented to four students. Another 20 received the Prof Xu Jialu Whole Person Education Award. The Mr Fung Sun Kwan Scholarship of Excellence was awarded to 12 students having good performances in Chinese language and culture studies.
