Renowned film makers from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan gathered at UIC on 8 May to launch the nine-day 24 Frames and Creative Media Festival.
This university student film festival received entries from more than 300 students of more than 50 universities at home and abroad. Nine awards were presented in recognition of excellence and innovation at the opening ceremony.
According to UIC President Prof Ng Ching-Fai, the influence of the festival is increasing. It establishes a platform for “students from various backgrounds to exchange ideas and broaden horizons.”

During the festival, film directors, producers and participants discussed hot film topics in an open forum. They also gave film students advice who attended the improvisation competition.

UIC’s graduating Cinema and Television Programme (CTV) students presented their final year projects at the 24 Frames session. In addition, novel equipment and technical innovations were displayed.
The festival was hosted by CTV and co-organised by Media and Public Relations Office.
