Han Qide, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), chairman of the Central Committee of the Jiu San (September 3rd) Society, and chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology, visited UIC on 17 November.

Han spoke well of the quality of UIC’s education: “UIC is very special in the aspects of humanistic quality education and whole person education. Students receive a leading-edge educational philosophy and develop and grow in an all-round way. I think, in many aspects it is worth learning by other universities.”

He stopped off in the Art Hill and the Shadow Puppet Drama Pavilion to experience the learning environment of traditional Chinese culture, including shedao (Chinese archery), guqin (a plucked seven-string ancient Chinese musical instrument) and shadow puppetry.
