
Year Two student from the Applied Economics Programme Luo Qiaoqiao took the fifth place at the 2014 Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) World Championship held in Anaheim, California, on 28 July. Luo is the current national champion of Excel 2010 in China.
More than 400,000 candidates from 130 countries competed to demonstrate their mastery of Microsoft Office products in the MOS Championship, which is dubbed “the Olympics of Office”. Luo Qiaoqiao joined the other 122 national or regional champions to vie for the world championships.

At the National Qualifying Competition in May, UIC students won multiple awards. These include the MOS Team First Prize, the Outstanding Organisation Award, and nine individual awards in Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
In a spectacular showing last year, UIC students earned 12 individual prizes and four team prizes at the National Qualifying Competition of the 2013 MOS World Championship.
