Well-known melodies at the student vocal concert

UIC students presented a multilingual Vocal Concert with English, Chinese, French, Italian, Korean and Latin melodies on the evening of 4 December.

The 22 songs brought revealed a broad range of musical expressions. The performances included solo and chorus work, some accompanied by piano and dance.

Connie Xue, a Year 2 student from the Government and International Relations Programme, sang a French song called La Vie en Rose. For her interpretation of Edith Piaf's classic she had already been awarded the second prize in a provincial singing competition.

Ancy Chen and Hydew Chan, first and second place at the 8th UIC singing competition, were in good voice. Their dynamism delighted the audience.

Some faculty and staff members also got on stage. The concert ended with the chorus Joy to the world.

The concert was organised by the General Education Office and led by Ms Sandra Lau, Campus Music Activity Organiser.
