Over 1,000 students and parents consulted the representatives from 32 foreign universities during the Fourth International Postgraduate Information Fair at UIC on 19 October.

32 tertiary institutions from seven countries and regions at the Fair
The Fair provided students and adult learners in and near Zhuhai with the latest information about postgraduate study abroad, and included 32 institutions from the UK, the US, Switzerland, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and Hong Kong.
Information sessions on programmes, admission requirements and scholarships were held by the University of Warwick, Hamline University, the University of Western Sydney, the University of Waikato, Hong Kong Baptist University and other participants.

The Fair attracts more than a thousand visitors
Vice-President of UIC Prof. Zee Sze-Yong said in the opening speech that UIC students have three advantages when studying overseas: an internationally-accredited curriculum and degree, English-medium instruction, and Liberal Arts Education.
Associate Director of Four-Point Education Coordination Office Ms Lisa Zhang revealed that nearly 50 percent of UIC graduates opt for graduate studies every year. “The number of participating universities is increasing, and some already collaborate with UIC in areas such as summer programmes.”

Dr Carol Hsiao, Asian Representative of the University of Texas at Arlington: “It is the second year that we are at UIC. Last year we accepted around five graduates from UIC, and this year we plan to expand this number to 20 or 30.”
Student Han from UIC's Culture, Creativity and Management Programme helped out at the booth of Miami International University of Art and Design. She is interested in creative arts even though UIC doesn't offer a Bachelor Degree in Arts. “I haven’t decided yet whether to continue studying, but if I do, I want to prepare early,” she said.

Ms Li, the mother of Applied Translation Studies student Wang Tianyi’s, flew in for the Fair from Heilongjiang's Harbin. “The universities here have been carefully selected by UIC, so I suppose they are trustworthy. This college upholds a different educational philosophy from other Chinese universities and allows its students to broaden their horizons by meeting international cultures. That’s why we chose this college for our daughter.”
