The Hong Kong Professionals and Senior Executives Association get to know Hengqin and UIC

On 27 April, a 22 person delegation from the Hong Kong Professionals and Senior Executives Association (HKPASEA) visited Hengqin New Area of Zhuhai and UIC, in the company of Prof. Ng Ching-Fai, President of UIC, and Prof. Stella Cho, Dean of Division of Business and Management (DBM) at UIC.

The visit was organised by DBM to promote Hengqin amongst Hong Kong as part of the collaboration agreement between Hengqin and UIC.

The delegates first arrived at the Hengqin Master Plan Exhibition Hall, where they met with Ye Zhen, deputy director of the Administrative Committee of the Hengqin New Area.

A conference on future collaboration in many possible fields was held later between the delegation and Hengqin administrative executives including Ye Wenqing, deputy director of Industrial Development Bureau, and Chi Tenghui, deputy director of the Financial Affairs Bureau. The guests from Hong Kong confirmed great interest in participating in Hengqin's development.

Subsequently the delegation went to UIC’s unfinished Research and Development Finance Training Centre located in the Hengqin New Area.

Afterwards, the delegation visited the UIC campus, including the Learning Resource Centre and Shadow Puppet Drama Pavilion to gain a further understanding of UIC's educational philosophy. They appreciated Prof. Ng Ching-Fai's words that UIC's liberal arts education and new admission scheme in Guangdong Province are both contributing to the diversification of tertiary education in China.

In the evening, Mr. Tse Wai Chuen Tony, president of the HKPASEA, gave a fascinating speech at the High Table Dinner with UIC students and staff.
