The first International University Presidents Forum, jointly hosted by the Department of Education of Guangdong Province, and the Foreign Affairs Office of Guangdong Provincial People's Government, was held on November 28 and 29, 2012 in Guangzhou. Prof. M.Y. Chan, Associate Vice-President, gave a speech on "Whole Person Education and Graduate Attributes at UIC" which received very positive feedback from both the foreign and Chinese participants.
Prof. Chan gave a speech at the International University Presidents Forum.
During the forum, both international and Chinese participants showed strong interest in our whole person education model. Moreover, they would like to explore further cooperation with UIC, including for exchange programs and research projects.
The International University Presidents Forum is the most important part of the Guangdong International Week on Cooperation and Exchange, held from November 26 to 30, 2012. The theme of this forum was Higher Education Internationalization and Technology Innovation.

More than 200 representatives from 90 higher education institutions from overseas sister states/provinces and cities and from Guangdong Province have participated in this event. These foreign institutions are from Australia, Germany, Italy, Poland, Sweden, Denmark, Portuguesa, Turkey, Russia, Chile, India, Singapore, Laos, United Kingdom, and so on.
In order to deepen mutual understanding and future cooperation, forum participants also attended the Guangdong- Foreign Universities Exchange and Matching Meeting in Jinan University held on November 29, 2012.
