June 14, 2007. Representatives from the University of Bologna, Italy, visited UIC in the hope of developing cooperation relations between the two institutes.
The visitors included Prof. Pietro Manzini, Professor of International Law, Assistant Prof. Andrea Lollini, Institute of History, Department of Political Science, and Dr. Antonio Fiori, Department of Political Science. UIC representatives Prof. Paul Hockings, Acting Dean and Professor, Humanity & Social Science, Director of General Education, Prof. Aspalter Christian, Prof. Profulla Chandra Sarker, Dr. Chandar Sundaram, Mr. Aminian Navid, Ms, Kaven Lee and Ms. Mona Sun attended the meeting with the visitors.
At the meeting, the visitors and UIC representatives discussed the feasibility of launching multi-level student and faculty exchange programmes and future joint master programme between the two institutes. The visitors showed great interest in the English teaching environment at UIC, which in their opinion, would be an advantage in exchange programmes. Prof. Pietro Manzini would also give a presentation to introduce the University of Bologna and their cooperation intention at the High Table Dinner in the evening of June 16.
Located in the City of Bologna, Italy, a rich city with medieval beauty, the University of Bologna has its origin dated back to the year 1088. The University has founded a China Association College in 2005, and is planning to recruit more students from China.
