President, teachers, parents and my fellow graduates,
Good morning! I'm Zhao Yuqing, from Media Management Concentration. It's a great honour to speak here. First of all, I want to express my sincere gratitude to our alma mater, teachers, and parents.
Now allow me to share my story with you. I still remember the day when I received the admission offer. It was an ordinary Monday morning, and I was on my way to work as usual. You can imagine how happy a girl could be after she has been working continuously for four years. This offer brought me here and created many sweet memories for us. Walking in the beautiful moonlight in the Huitong village, catching the campus bus at the very last minute, admiring our central lake and the black swans in it. Those sweet memories will always stay with us even if we grow old one day.
Actually I was quite nervous at first, because I was not sure whether I could devote myself 100%. However, I decided to let go of all my worries and just believe in myself. Then I tried my best and forgot anything else. I have to admit that studying is painful. But no pains, no gains. When I passed all my examinations with a grade of A and received my first-class scholarship, I realized that all my efforts were worth it. I mustn't forget to thank my teammates, teachers, and our most respectable Ms Ashura Lam.
Apart from study, I also have had fun in a series of whole-person courses. Guqin, archery, folk dance, golf, tennis, Pilates, salsa and Brazilian samba. It is amazing to be exposed to multicultural experiences in a predominantly English environment.
Finally, I want to share my point of view based on my story. Life is full of challenges and uncertainties. When you feel confused, just forget all about the unnecessary worries and try your best, the result is even better than imagined. I hope this belief will cheer you up when you feel upset or disappointed on your rainy days in the future. After all, you must always have faith in people and, most importantly, you must always have faith in yourself. Let me conclude by wishing each of you a bright future! Thank you!
