MANKATO — Bethany Lutheran College was recently named one of the most affordable small colleges west of the Mississippi.
Greatvaluecolleges.com calculated the net price of attending Bethany at $17,742 a year and named it one of top 100 most affordable colleges in the western U.S. It ranked colleges with less than 4,000 students and looked beyond tuition costs to include added fees, as well as the average financial aid package per student.
"Bethany Lutheran College is a top small private college with a strong faculty and a selective list of majors," the website says. "... And if Minnesota isn’t enough for you, sign up to study abroad at BLC’s sister school – the United International College in Zhuhai, China."
Bethany was ranked No. 70. The University of Minnesota's regional campuses in Crookston, Morris and Rochester were ranked No. 44, with a net price of $13,532 a year.
