Recent achievements in faculty awards, national research funding, and postdoctoral development highlight BNBU’s rapid progress in both teaching and research, reinforcing its role as a rising academic force in the Greater Bay Area.
This Teachers’ Day brought a series of honours to BNBU. Prof Peng Xiaoling of the Faculty of Science and Technology and Head of MSc Programme, received the title of Excellent Teacher of Guangdong. Dr Lin Mi, Associate Dean for Teaching and Learning of the Faculty of Business and Management, was awarded both the Excellent Educator of Guangdong and the BNBU President’s Award. In addition, eight distinguished faculty and staff members, including Dr Tian Zhimin, Prof He Ping, Prof Christian Aspalter, Dr Fan Wentao, Dr Ma Chuoxin, Dr Ricky Hou, Ms Fang Sufen, and Ms Wang Di, were honoured with the President’s Award.

In October 2025, Dr Shi Hao, Head of the Department of Finance and Economics at BNBU, was invited to a livestream on China Central Television during the Canton Fair. He shared insights ranging from trade policies to strategies for companies, in navigating uncertainties in global markets.

In August 2025, BNBU secured four grants under the 2025 National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Young Scientists Fund. The awarded faculty members are Dr Du Xinwei, Dr Ge Mingming and Dr Bi Xiaowen from the Faculty of Science and Technology, and Dr Song Xiaofei from the Faculty of Business and Management.
The NSFC directs, coordinates and ensures the effective use of the national natural science fund to support basic research and cultivate scientific talents for the Nation’s development. These efforts provide a strong foundation for BNBU to advance higher-level research initiatives in the future.

The China Postdoctoral Science Foundation announced the recipients of the 77th and 78th batches of General Funding. Among them are BNBU Postdoctoral Fellows Dr Li Futuan, Dr Guo Yuhui (Mathematics), and Dr Lin Yuxuan (Statistics). BNBU now has two postdoctoral programmes in Mathematics and Statistics with 10 researchers. Among them, three receive funds from the foundation, and four are selected for the Special Support Plan for High-level Talents of Guangdong.
