UIC faculty members receive ministerial and provincial humanities and social sciences funds

A total of nine projects by seven teachers from UIC have received funding from the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China (MOE) and the Guangdong Philosophy and Social Science Foundation.

Four faculty members of UIC's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (FHSS) have been awarded by MOE, they are Dr Wu Shuang, with a focus on women's flexible employment and optimisation of reproduction; Dr Zhang Qiaoyun, with a focus on the cultural mechanisms and pathways for coping with natural disasters from an anthropological perspective; Dr Song Ge, with a focus on the English translation studies on Chinese painting and calligraphy; and Dr Chen Zhan, with a focus on the translation and annotated scriptures of Syriac Christianity along the Silk Road.

Guangdong Philosophy and Social Science Foundation has also funded five UIC faculty members. They are Dr Song Ge, with a focus on the life language of the four central cities of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area; Dr Wu Shuang, with a focus on the impact of cooperation in higher education between the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong and Macao on the talent cultivation in the Greater Bay Area; Dr Ning Xuan, with a focus on the construction of long-term psychological service system for colleges and universities through social networks; Dr Tan Yaqian, with a focus on students in the context of information technology in education; and Dr Chen Xuemei, with a focus on children's translators based on corpus study.
