For the 2022-2023 academic year, UIC has set more than 30 scholarships. These were funded from various sources, including the government, the university iteself, and generous donations from social welfare organisations and individuals.

UIC senior management including Provost Prof Patrick Chau, Party Secretary of the College Party Committee, Vice President (Administration) Prof Mao Yaqing, Associate Vice President (Student Development), Acting Dean of School of General Education Prof Stella Cho, Associate Vice President (Internationalisation), Dean of Faculty of Science and Technology Prof Pan Jianxin, Academic Registrar Prof Li Jianhui with Director of Fung Sun Kwan Chinese Arts Foundation Prof Lee Hung-kai and CEO of Guangdong Medical Valley Mr Xie Jiasheng presented the scholarships to the awarded students.

Provost Prof Chau said the scholarships rewarded past achievements and students' pursuit of excellence. He stressed that higher education should foster students' creativity, social responsibility as well as academic ability. He urged the students to exemplify UIC's liberal arts education and become well-rounded global citizens.

Prof Lee said that the recipients of the Mr Fung Sun Kwan Scholarship of Excellence came from various schools and faculties within the university, demonstrating a love for learning and a commitment to preserving Chinese traditional culture. He encouraged students to continue their in-depth study of Chinese language, literature, and history, strengthening their sense of mission in cultural inheritance.

Fourth-year student Cai Hongkai of the Accounting Programme was the winner of the National Scholarship and the President's Honour Award. He said UIC's liberal arts education encourages students to embrace diversity and develop comprehensively, and he was grateful for his time at UIC.
