The Consul General of Italy, Guangzhou, Mrs Lucia Pasqualini, and the Deputy Consul General, Mr Giorgio Daviddi, visited UIC on 10 January 2022 to get to know UIC and engage with the Italian faculty team at UIC.


UIC President Prof Tang Tao warmly welcomed Mrs Lucia Pasqualini and Mr Giorgio Daviddi to UIC's beautiful campus. Prof Adrian Bailey, UIC Associate Vice President (Internationalization) and Dean of the Division of Humanities and Social Sciences, joined the warm welcome.

After a brief introduction to UIC, a fruitful discussion around potential cultural exchange activities, language learning support and academic connections developed.

Given the high interest of UIC students to learn about other cultures and their languages, cultural exchange and learning activities will undoubtedly enrich the international learning atmosphere of UIC.




Mrs Pasqualini indicated that donations of Italian books cultural exchange activities within the province would be a promising start. After a very productive exchange of ideas, Mrs Lucia Pasqualini and Mr Giorgio Daviddi continued with a meeting with Italian faculty members at UIC, including Prof Carlotta Viti, Professor and Coordinator of CFLC; Dr Edoardo Monaco, Associate Professor and Programme Director of Globalisation and Development; Assistant Professor of Divison of Science and Technology, Dr Hu Yujia; and Associate Professors of Division of Culture and Creativity Dr Vincenzo De Masi and Dr Luciano Zubillaga.
