How UICers spent their National Day holiday

Published on 11 October 2022

At the beginning of October, when the People’s Republic of China celebrates its 73rd birthday, UIC students found various ways to participate in the celebration and spend their holiday meaningfully.

Promoting Chinese Shadow Theatre

Candle Art Club members recomposed two traditional Chinese stories into shadow plays and performed them for the local community during the holiday.

Joining the Macao National Day fireworks show

Wang Siqu watched fireworks and celebrated National Day with Macao compatriots, recording the prosperity of China with a camera.

Preparing for UIC Short Video Competition

Huang Ruijie, director of a short film, led his team to complete most of the filming in Zhuhai under a sound plan of three days, preparing for the third UIC Short Video Competition.

Studying and reading on the campus

Wang Yi prefers to enrich herself by reading books, reviewing the study materials and preparing for future studies.

Grabbing a cup of coffee

Instead of studying on campus, Gao Jiaqi chose to study in the coffee shops in Zhuhai. After a sip of coffee, Jiaqi felt relaxed and recharged, and she could go back to reviewing or reading. In addition, she would take photographs of some old villages nearby when she had some free time.

Cycling in Zhuhai

The best way to feel the rhythm and pulse of Zhuhai is to cycle within it, revealing its tranquillity and cosiness far away from the bustling commercial centre. Hong Jinxuan cycled to the seaside, and the sea breeze, sunset, and waves during the trip comforted him from stress and homesickness.

Going to a concert

Guo Zifei went to a creative piano recital at Zhuhai Grand Theatre on 3 October, and the unique auditory and visual experiences relieved them from a busy study schedule.

Visiting popular scenic spots in Zhuhai

Xie Yuchen highly recommended coastal Qinglv (couple) Road, where you can see the famous statue of the fisher girl, a lighthouse and the Zhuhai Grand Theatre along the fifty-five-kilometre-long footpath.

Keeping fit in UIC’s Gym

Zhuang Zihan maintained a regular fitness plan during the holiday. Fitness helps him form a good mental state and regular schedule. The fitness environment of UIC also helps him achieve higher fitness goals.

Life at UIC during the holiday

During the National Day holiday, the campus service has been provided continuously, ensuring a comfortable and convenient living environment for students and staff staying on campus.
