Published on 27 October 2022

UIC organised a lunchtime meeting, where UIC President and the Executive Committee representatives of the Student Union exchanged ideas on campus development, living expenses and more.

UIC President, Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Fellow of the European Academy of Sciences Prof Tang Tao shared his outlook on campus development and addressed students' concerns. He expected more students to contribute to UIC's development, so the Student Union should collect and reflect their opinions efficiently. He pointed out that more communication channels would be provided in the future, ensuring their voices could be heard.

In addition, Prof Tang stressed that athletic activities were an essential part of college life, and students could make full use of the facilities of the second-phase campus to organise more sports events in the future.

Prof Tang attended the meeting along with Vice President (Administration) Prof Mao Yaqing, Deputy Secretary of the UIC Party Committee Ms Wang Hong and Associate Professor, Acting Chief Student Affairs Officer Dr Shawn Tang.

Referring to the issue of living expenses, Prof Mao Yaqing said that UIC would strengthen the supervision and management of the shops in school and bring in more quality options to meet the diverse needs of students.
