UIC students win national first and second prizes at English public speaking contest

At the online session of the 2022 “FLTRP·ETIC Cup” English Public Speaking Contest, second-year UIC student Mao Mengdi from the Statistics (STAT) Programme won the first prize, and first-year student Wang Kemingyue from the Chinese Culture and Global Communication (CCGC) Programme won the second prize.

At the offline competition, third-year student Zhou Ziqian from English Language and Literature Studies (ELLS) Programme won the second prize in Guangdong province, and fourth-year student Li Ertai from Applied Psychology (APSY) Programme won the provincial excellent prize.

During the eight-month competition, UIC students received special training and careful guidance from UIC English Language Centre (ELC) teachers. The four award-winning students said that the competition experience was memorable, and they have significantly benefited from the workshops and guidance provided by the UIC teachers.
