For many UIC students, their winter vacation is full of improvement, gains, joy, and happiness.
Xing Mingyu is a third-year student from the Food Science and Technology Programme, and she chose to follow up on her research in the lab during this winter vacation suggested by her mentor.

Xing received help and advice from senior classmates and teachers during that time. With hard work and instructions from others, she managed to complete her experiment with a fruitful outcome.

Lin Kehan is a second-year student from the Media Arts and Design Programme, and she was determined to prepare herself for her next-semester study by learning new tricks of modelling software.
Lin went through the software application and successfully designed her artwork with it.

Deng Kaixin is a third-year student from the Media and Communication Studies Programme, who started to film his documentary this winter.

His documentary aims to help the elder better distinguish between good and wrong information. By participating in the production, such as script writing and editing, he strengthened his skills to the next level.

Instead of going home, some students decided to stay at UIC for the Chinese New Year.
Among them are two second-year students, Han Xizhen and Zhao Fangyuan, and the College invited them and others to lunch, celebrating the special time together with teachers at school.

Han is from the Applied Psychology Programme, and Zhao the e-Business Management and Information Systems. They said the school had also prepared unique gifts for them, and spending a vacation at UIC made them feel at home.

Yu Wanhui, Li Mengyao and Hu Yue are third-year students from the Public Relations and Advertising Programme, but they spent their vacation in different locations.
Yu was exchanged to France during the holiday and cooked with other exchange students on Chinese New Year's Eve, preparing themselves a feast.

Instead of going abroad, Li was attracted by the ice sculptures and went to Harbin to enjoy the world of the white snow and the warmth of people's kindness.

Hu set her destination at Jingdezhen, immersing herself in the culture of pottery and porcelain. She was impressed by the craftsmanship and innovation of the industry.
