UIC students joined a lunch meeting with UIC President on 11 May 2023, discussing campus development and school life.

UIC President, Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Fellow of the European Academy of Sciences Prof Tang Tao said that UIC would continue to improve campus facilities to provide high-quality campus life for students by building more exhibition halls, sports grounds and others.

He also expected students to join hands in improving the campus environment, strive for the university's long-term development, and build a well-known liberal arts university brand.
Additionally, students proposed adding more sports classes to their curriculum, adjusting the time arrangement to shift peak hours in the canteen and optimising the commute between the first-phase and the second-phase campuses. Their concerns were well-addressed by teachers and staff.
