UIC organised a professional development programme for Meizhou English teachers in 2023 summer as part of the scheme on basic education support work from 2021 to 2025 with Meijiang District, Meizhou City, to help the development of basic education in Guangdong.

The programme was funded by the UIC EF and organised by the School of General Education. It invited 38 English teachers from different primary and secondary schools to improve their teaching competency regarding teaching concepts, methods, research, and achievements while emphasising internationalisation and localisation. It started on 3 July 2023 and would last for twelve days.

Since establishing the partnership between UIC and Meijiang District, UIC has assisted in setting up and managing "Dream Centres" in five elementary education schools in Meijiang District and implementing the Dream Sports Class programme in ten schools.
