Although the new semester has started, UIC students still carry the marks left by their summer holiday.
Besides doing internships and visiting world-renowned universities, some UIC students took part in the summer programmes of diversity and colour.

This year, UIC offered 25 summer courses and opened them up to outside students for the first time, attracting more than 300 students from inside and outside the campus.
Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) launched around 20 summer courses covering various disciplines, and nearly 100 UICers joined it and had a rewarding summer.

Chen Xingyu is a fourth-year student of UIC's Applied Translation Studies Programme and he took two courses, Business and Financial Reporting (BFR) and Japanese, at UIC this summer. He said he had formed an understanding of finance from scratch and learned the Japanese 50-syllable chart and basic grammar.

Xiao Xiaoyao is a third-year student of UIC's Media and Communication Studies Programme and she chose two courses, Intercultural Communication and Data Journalism, at HKBU. She said that the summer programmes laid a foundation for her future studies and helped her make new friends at HKBU.

The School of General Education (SGE) also organised summer programmes for students to broaden their horizons.
He Xuwen is a third-year student of UIC's Public Relations and Advertising Programme and participated in the Bingdao Tea Summer Programme. She experienced the complete process of tea making and tea cake packaging, and had gained a deeper understanding of Pu'er tea during the summer.

Huang Zihan is a fourth-year student of UIC's Accounting Programme and joined the Equestrian Summer Programme. She gained a beginner's certificate in equestrianism and knew how to communicate with a horse after the class.
