An appointment ceremony was held at UIC on 14 September 2023. UIC Dean of the Faculty of Business and Management Prof Liu Wenbin was appointed a financial expert consultant by the Zhuhai Standing Committee.

Yan Haobo, party group member and deputy director of Zhuhai's Standing Committee, praised UIC for actively participating in Zhuhai's development. He expected that UIC experts and scholars would continue to provide wisdom for Zhuhai's growth. Senior staff from the Committee and UIC, including UIC President, Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Fellow of the European Academy of Sciences Prof Tang Tao attended the meeting.

Prof Tang said that serving society is one of the missions of UIC, and UIC will integrate resources and actively participate in improving Zhuhai's economy, society and culture.

Prof Liu Wenbin is UIC's Dean of the Faculty of Business and Management and Chair Professor, the Overseas Professor in the Evaluation Centre, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). His main research areas are in Management and Computational Mathematics, specifically in productivity and performance analysis, scientometrics and research evaluation, numerical partial differential equations, and computational optimal control. He is currently an Associate Editor of Omega - The International Journal of Management Science, Information Process Management, Journal of Research Management and other internationally renowned management science journals. Prof Liu has published over 200 academic papers, most of which have been published and cited by SCI / SSCI journals.
